Midlife Crisis Approaching
My life just crept into its 31st year and I can find myself being an early candidate for midlife crisis. Not that I have not accomplished anything in my life – I feel like I have achieved significantly; am satisfied with where I am today. But I feel like I missed the mark. While I have tremendously enjoyed and excelled in fabricating anything my imagination can dream up – I feel like I have been selfish – I should have done more for people. And am currently looking for ways to do something that would make people around me happier.
I recently read a review of a book co-authored by Lodge and Crowley (Younger Next Year) – a lot of it made sense and here are some of the rules I have taken from the book and have modified a bit to suit my lifestyle – will try to live by these, with extra emphasis on the last two…
- Exercise 6 days a week
- Do serious aerobic exercise 3 days a week
- Do serious strength training 4 days a week
- Spend less than what you make
- Quit eating crap
- Care
- Connect and commit
